Welcome To A Rainbow Place!

Northern Nevada's Community and Counseling Center

Our Mission Statement:

A Rainbow Place is a Community Center committed to providing creative, educational, mental and physical health, social and advocacy related services to the LGBTQ, Questioning and HIV+ communities and their Allies of Northern Nevada.

Our Purpose Statement:

Established in 2000 to meet the needs of the under served LGBTQ community, A Rainbow Place strives to be a self supporting space dedicated to our community's development, education, empowerment and growth in a safe and encouraging environment. 

A Rainbow Place is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization. We value the health and strength of our community and appreciate the generosity of our donors, like you. Donations may be tax-deductible.

A Rainbow Place is NOW open Tuesday thru Saturday, 11am-7pm


 

LGBT FILM NIGHTS - 2ND THURSDAYS

Join A Rainbow Place as we host LGBT author and historian Paul Cain and a selection from his LGBT film archive every 2nd Thursday of the month.  Paul's first selection will be  AFTER STONEWALL, a look at American LGBTQ history and events following the 1969 Stonewall rebellion.

BEGINS THURSDAY, JUNE 12TH AT 7:00PM

STONEWALL 39 COMMUNITY PICNIC

Join A Rainbow Place Sunday, June 22nd, 1:00pm at Whitaker Park for our annual Stonewall Community Picnic, honoring the Stonewall Rebellion of 1969, which moved LGBTQ rights into the forefront of the American civil rights movement. 

Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chips, Salads and Water and Music will be provided by A Rainbow Place. Suggested donation - $5.00

Bring your own beverages and games if you like. No alcohol allowed. Whitaker Park is at Washington St. and University Terrace, just north of I-80 in Reno. RTC RIDE #4 bus goes to Whitaker Park.

All Donations Raised Go To ARP's General Fund and Victim's Advocate Fund, Supporting Victims Of Anti-LGBTQ Violence In The Truckee Meadows.


 

     Bar AIDS - ReNO AIDS Community Task Force and A Rainbow Place 

The  ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™ and A Rainbow Place are pleased to announce Bar AIDS®.  On August 28th 2008, we invite you and your friends to celebrate the end of summer at some of Reno’s finest drinking establishments, lounges and nightclubs.  On this occasion the stars of Reno’s nightlife will come together as owners and community leaders donate a portion of their sales to help fund the fight against HIV/AIDS. Sober? Have a coke  or juice instead
